“Everything about Watson's time at Woodland Wellies has been magical. From when he started as a toddler, to now, starting school, he has truly thrived being with Sandy and we will all very much miss everything about her.
Sandy has an amazing talent for making learning fun. Every day there are new, fun activities that are planned to promote the individual development of each child. She genuinely cares for Watson and this is shown in just how comfortable he is being in her home and how engaged he is in the hundreds of activities and play opportunities she provides for him. Her daily photo updates go above and beyond, we've always felt completely at ease and happy knowing he is so safe and secure.
Watson has specifically developed a true love of the outdoors; bug hunting, den building, exploring on woodland adventures (in all weathers), sledging, painting on the common - his knowledge of nature/plants/insects far exceeds ours! He has also made forever friendships; being in a close and nurturing home from home environment has given him the space and time to really find his voice and share his personality with confidence.
Aside from her care of Watson, I feel so lucky to have had Sandy's support as a parent - from those first settling in sessions, to knowing how to help with tricky 'phases' - and celebrating his achievements with us over the years. She is truly outstanding.”

Sandy’s little paradise has developed that curiosity and interest of learning about the world around him to unprecedented levels. Ezana is much brighter, outgoing, positive and mentally more advanced than other kids of the same age bracket.
Her use of the natural environment to educate the kids about the life cycle of every living creature is very impressive. Her classes are small but impactful as each child is given full attention and personal care. They also do lots of puzzles, outdoor games, visits to the stables and many more fun activities.
My son wakes up each morning with excitement about going to school and playing with his friends. He comes home most times narrating to me his daily activities – what he learned or assembled or how many legs a spider has.
Our experience has been first class and unmatched. My only regret is that we never had the opportunity for Ezana’s older siblings to experience her school.”

Sandy is an exceptional teacher who is both gentle and structured in her approach. She has created a beautiful learning environment both indoors and outdoors where children can explore and learn at their own pace. It’s been amazing to watch our son’s confidence and intelligence grow under her care.
The entire family at Sandy’s has become an extension of our own family, and our son loves them all dearly. We are so grateful to have found Sandy’s nursery, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nurturing and stimulating environment for their child. Thank you, Sandy for everything that you do!”

There was never a moment of hesitation when going in the morning and regularly runs in without even saying goodbye. The small numbers ensure that the children form close friendships and start learning letters and numbers as well as other areas of the curriculum in a fun and engaging way. I would highly recommend Sandy to anyone looking to enhance their child’s development. Her age 2 reports were so detailed that even the health visitor wanted to come along for a day!”
“George absolutely loves Woodland Wellies Forest School! Sandy is an outstanding teacher and provides a lovely, safe and caring setting for small groups of children. Each day is full of different activities and projects and George has grown hugely in confidence and ability as well as gaining a love of nature and the environment. I cannot recommend WWFS more highly!”

Sandy creates an incredibly nurturing, caring and calm environment where the children have so much fun. From spending time in the fabulous garden, exploring the common and the forest to dressing up in the funniest outfits and playing instruments in the music room – both Harry and Sophia have a wonderful time at Sandy’s. She’s instilled an appreciation for nature, caring and kindness towards animals, as well as each other. She gives the children lots of opportunities for creativity and finds such imaginative ways to teach them new skills and prepare them for school when the time comes – the photos and updates Sandy sends, always put a smile on my face. We know at Sandy’s they are being incredibly well cared for, including lovely home cooked meals, and that they will come home very happy with some wonderful stories. We are so grateful to Sandy for all her support and providing the children with such a fantastic environment to learn, grow and flourish in – we cannot recommend her highly enough.”
"Sandy is the most wonderful childminder we've ever known. She is so creative, thoughtful, caring and calm and the environment she has created for the children is so special. My boys love their days with Sandy and they will miss her so much when they start school. I just wish I'd found her earlier!"

“My son loved his time at Woodland Wellies! He enjoyed the mix of outdoor play with homely comforts. In particular, he always loved feeding the chickens, visiting Barney the horse and reading books with Sandy. The whole family welcomed and embraced him, helping him to settle in quickly and return happily.”
“Over the last seven years my three grandchildren, including George, have each attended Woodland Wellies in turn. Sandy is the most inspirational and gifted teacher I have ever met and she is adored by all children. She creates wonderful memories with imaginative activities in her lovely home and garden which are full of fun and laughter.

Sandy is the most inspirational and gifted teacher I have ever met and she is adored by all children. She creates wonderful memories with imaginative activities in her lovely home and garden which are full of fun and laughter. There are musical instruments to play, pet chickens, Guinea pigs and cats to cuddle, ponies to visit and bug hunts galore.
Above all, Sandy cares for the children as if they were her own - so parents can be confident their children are safe and happy as they learn."

"Sandy from Woodland Wellies Forest School is absolute gold dust and I can't praise her highly enough. Esmé started going to Sandy's when she was 1. She visits 4 days a week and is always kept busy with wonderful activities and love. When we had Esmé's 30 month development checks they were very impressed with Sandy's attention to detail with the report on Esmé's development. Sandy is kind, incredibly patient and always has a full tank of love ready for them which I hugely admire. It's probably fair to say that it's Esme's favourite place in the world. She loves all the outdoor activities and asks us every morning if it's a Sandy day. We really enjoy hearing about stumble trips, lichen and all the different things she's learned about in the woods. The care and attention Sandy provides is absolutely amazing. I think we would struggle to find anywhere better for Esmé and I'm pretty sure Sandy is the best childminder in the country, maybe the world."
"Sam started with Sandy when he was 4 months old, and from the moment I left him we knew she was going to be amazing. From the friendships he made to the amazing food she cooked and the different activities she engaged him in, she will always be a huge part of his and our lives. The support and help that we had as parents from her was also outstanding. Since we have moved away Sam still talks about Sandy and how he misses her so much and loves her, I think that in itself shows how incredible and caring she is.”
“Sandy is incredibly organised and focussed with the children, she always has creative, topical and varied subjects for them to be doing. Whether it is painting flowers on a walk on the Common or making rocket ships in the garden with cardboard boxes, the children spend a large proportion of the time doing outdoor pursuits. I feel Teddy benefitted so much from spending time with Sandy."
"My son, Charlie, aged 8 has been looked after by Sandy since he was 6 months old. Throughout this time, he has always been excited to go to her house. He looks forward to seeing Sandy and whoever else she is looking after that day. He especially likes it when Sandy's children are home from school!
When I collect him, he is always so smiley and content, full of stories of what he has done that day. He enjoys playing in the garden, going for walks in the woods and playing in the playroom with the many and varied games and activities Sandy has to offer. When the younger children are asleep, Sandy reads stories to Charlie which he loves. The diary which Sandy produces is a priceless record of not only his time at her house, but also his development in general. The photos and detailed narrative are wonderful to have. The end of year reports also offer a detailed analysis of where Charlie is developmentally.
I cannot fault the care and attention which Sandy gives to Charlie. I would recommend her as a childminder to any prospective parents without hesitation."
"We have been incredibly fortunate to have Sandy as Abigail’s childminder for nearly 2 years. Abi is always excited to go to Sandy’s and has learnt and developed so much there due to Sandy’s outstanding skills as a childminder and teacher. The environment is ideal, with fantastic opportunities and resources, inside and out to learn, have fun and socialise. As the Ofsted inspector said to me, we could not find a better place for Abigail until she starts school. Sandy provides an incredible quality of care, excellent food, a focus on active play and outdoor activity. I have, and will continue to recommend Sandy as a unique and special opportunity for your child."
"Oaty loves going to Sandy's and has been doing so for years; originally as a day pre-school and now in the school hols. Why does he love it so much? Well, Sandy and her children are like his second family where he is looked after, nurtured and has great fun just like at home."
"My daughter Annabel, has been with Sandy for the last four years. We are so lucky to have Sandy in our lives. She has been incredible in helping Annie thrive through all of her developmental stages. I trust her completely and rely on her for support and advice. Sandy gives Annie the absolute best in quality and care. Everything is tailored for what she needs from a physical, emotional and developmental point of view.
We communicate daily and Sandy keeps me thoroughly informed. We also have more in depth catch ups were we discuss specific challenges Annie might have and how we can support her.
Sandy provides a warm and loving environment where Annie feels part of the family. I think Annie might believe that Willow is her cat too!
Annie will sit on the stairs on a Sunday asking - 'Is it my Sandy day today?' and be so disappointed that she still has two more sleeps to wait.
I feel reassured that whilst its difficult leaving my daughter to go to work, she is getting the best care possible and having a wonderful time!"
“Arthur had the most wonderful time with Sandy. Her care is exceptional and I would recommend her without hesitation to any other family. The children had so much fun with her every day, but I was always so impressed at how much learning Sandy managed to include in all the fun. The skills Arthur learnt with her have stood him in very good stead in his move to pre-school and now school.
Sandy instilled in the children a wonderful sense of kindness and care for others, as well as for the natural world. Playing and learning outside was a huge part of any day with Sandy, which the children loved. Her imagination and willingness to allow the children to initiate games or topics is fantastic. We really couldn’t have wished for a better start for Arthur and our memories of his time with Sandy will always be very precious."
“Both my children have been lucky enough to have been cared for by Sandy. Tommy came twice a week from 14months to 3.5 years and Bella (now 34 months) since 15 months. Sandy was very kind and patient with the settling in process and eased them into the new environment so that they felt safe and secure. She strikes the perfect balance between setting up a huge variety of activities that allow them to play and learn whilst feeling like they’re at home. The children are so stimulated through all the fantastic indoor and outdoor resources they have access to.
I have often turned to Sandy for advice over the years - from fussy eating to naps, to tantrums to schools - and I have always found her a great support.
I know that when my children are with Sandy, they are happy and being looked after to the highest standard. I couldn't wish for a better childminder."
